The Chair is an instrument for the integral study of the horse and all equestrian activities in the University realm, with a clearly innovating approach that aims at dealing with research projects that analyze, develop and propose relevant improvements for the equestrian sector of the future, and which has as its main purpose, the study of the horse and the sports, health, training, economic and social activities related to it.

As the main distinguishing aspect, we’d like to highlight the fact that is it the only official study plan for the equestrian sector in the world. This is the only way to enable the implementation of a valid syllabus in order to offer professional equestrian certifications

IEC Objetives

The Chair is born out of the need for professionals in the equestrian sector to have an official certificate in their specialty.

The lack of regulation in this regard does not allow the growth and/or recognition of professionals who are part of the sector in a standardized manner and under the framework of international training that homogenizes the criteria for professional evaluation.

Therefore, there is a need for experts in the field of art, economics, veterinary medicine, livestock and others, to become not only qualified specialists in these disciplines, but also in the management of businesses related to horses.
